Gately Gallery presents Warring Factions by Mär Martinez alongside the Florence Regional Arts Alliance 2024 Small Works Competition.

Mär Martinez is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in sculptural painting. Her work explores structural power dynamics that breed dominance based on gender, ethnicity, and sexual identity within our society. The work is painted with meticulous layers and gentle strokes on wood that projects outward into space, allowing the sculptural painting to cast shadows on the wall.

The Florence Regional Arts Alliance is pleased to partner with Steven F. Gately Gallery for Small Works 2024. Entering its eighth year, Mär Martinez will serve as the juror for the competition.
