Jaime Azevedo’s Paper Dolls+ 2024 FMU Juried Student Exhibit
Jamie Azevedo’s body of work is a meditation on the relationship among modern women and their ancestors. The overlayment of multiple images of the female form mixed with the antique decorative wallpaper are meant to represent reaching back into time and bringing our mothers and grandmothers with us on our journey as women in the present day.
Jamie challenges the viewer to ask themselves what knowledge and wisdom could we gain if we were to meet the long-passed women in our families, and what would they think of us? What strength could we gain from their trials and tribulations to make us stronger and braver today?
Alongside Paper Dolls is the FMU Juried Student Exhibit.
